Hunters Moon Yoga Nidra | October 24
£10.00

Saturday 24th October 5-6pm (+ recording)

Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic tradition of stillness and rest that invites us to journey in the space between awake and asleep.

Allow yourself the time and space to be warm, comfortable and still as we move our awareness through the body to our surroundings and towards the liminal space of pure potential that is with us all.

Yoga nidra is restorative, sacred and deeply nourishing. To practice you will need a place where you can lie, sit or stand comfortably for 60 minutes. Avoid lighting candles or incense, instead bring blankets, cushions and as many layers of softness that you can tolerate.

If you can’t join us live, don’t worry - you can join us in your own time as you will receive a recording.

Yoga Nidra with Sonja

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is a practice of non-doing, an invitation to move into liminal rest where we can awaken to our deepest truth and inner wisdom.  It is not a yoga practice that involves movement - instead, we lie or sit comfortably with blankets and cushions and eyes closed (if we wish) and in our physical stillness we embark on an imaginal journey towards inner spaciousness and something profoundly nourishing and restful.  It is a practice to cherish, a portal into the space in-between, where we access all that is in a way that is timeless and limitless.

As we rest, we awaken.

What will you need?

To practice Yoga Nidra you need to be in a quiet space where you can lie safely and undisturbed with plenty of warmth and comfort.  No candles, hot drinks or incense lit - just you and your cocoon of comfort.

I'll be with you through a zoom link and you are invited to mute and turn your camera off - total privacy.  You can turn your computer screen away, all you need is my voice.

Qoya Inspired Movement with Sonja

Qoya Inspired Movement is an embodiment practice that weaves together thirteen different pillars to welcome all aspects of ourselves, bringing mind, body, heart and soul into awareness. Qoya classes are a place to strengthen our inherent resilience, rest in our essence and remember we are wise, wild and free.

In these times of accelerated transformation and change, each of us is being asked to find the ways that we can best meet this moment. In Qoya, we explore healing and nourishing ourselves in community so that we can bring our embodied selves to our daily lives in service to the expression of our most honest, authentic self.

Welcome to this beautiful Autumn Equinox Retreat Day — a very special offering that invites you to receive the holding of Mother Nature, the embodied feminine practices of reflection, movement and deep rest, and the collective nourishment of shared female experience.

Join Sonja in Studland Village Hall for a day of nature meditation and Qoya, a deeply restorative yoga nidra, cacoa from Common Roots, delicious food from Wylde Green Kitchen, and a closing sauna and sea swim at Knoll Beach.

The Day

10.30am — Opening circle and shared introductions

11.00am — Meditative nature immersion: an opportunity to wander outside in silence, collect offerings for our altar, or simply rest quietly in our space

11.30–1.00pm — Qoya Inspired Movement

1–2pm — Yoga Nidra Rest

2pm — Lunch & sharing

3.00–4.00pm — Sauna at Knoll Beach

Our Container

Our circle will hold a maximum of ten women. The day is carefully curated to move us through a journey from connection to nature, to body, and to the liminal field - a journey of depth and truth. In sharing delicious food together and dancing between the heat of the sauna and the cold of the ocean, we remember to lighten up and not take it all too seriously. Somewhere here, between the depth and the lightness, we remember ourselves.

If you feel called to stay quiet and solitary, there is space for that. If you feel called to chat and meet others, there is space for that too. There is no expectation of you other than to arrive as yourself, in whatever form that takes on this special, gentle and nourishing day.

Yoga Nidra with Sonja

Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic practice that cultivates our connection to liminal space - the place in-between asleep and awake where all potential is available.

The practice looks a lot like sleeping - lying down or sitting comfortably, with plenty of blankets, cushions and cosiness, you are invited to relax. And here in the relaxation, your awareness is guided gently around your body and beyond.

By coming into stillness and rest we can step out of the vibration of doing and remember a way of being that is deeply nourish.
