I left him. Where did I get the strength from?
The total death of a dream. I’d built this illusion with every cell of my body, every breath in my lungs. To dismantle this is pure horror.
Just the brush of your eyes feels like acid thrown at my face.
I did the school run. I took my boy to tennis. I did the things that happen everyday. It took all my strength. I felt raw, exposed, vulnerable - like a turtle without it’s shell, left out to burn in the midday sun.
